What is Muscular Corrective Therapy

Muscular Corrective Therapy (MCT) is a set of directional specialised techniques applied extrinsically to muscles, tendons and ligaments. Progressively applied MCT improves function and/or minimises dysfunction by relieving symptoms and pain.

Assessment, prior to any physical application of MCT techniques, commences at the first moment of contact with initial observations of posture, mobility, physique, morale, expression indicators and data gathered from the client  or other sources on the reason for the visit.

Physical techniques include:

- sequentially applied mechanical oscillation

- deep muscle fibre manipulation and separation

- coordinative muscular exercising

- preventive/rehabilitative movement exercises

- after care - between/after treatment stretching/strengthening

- informative self-awareness and risk support.

Alternate techniques to those selected for the initial consultation, or the same techniques applied with varying intensity or in differing order, may be used in follow-up treatments to achieve optimal outcomes.

Similar initial information gathering processes and observations are used to review client progress at future treatments or other contact opportunities.

Recommendations for future treatment regimes are tailored to suit individual circumstances and demonstrated progress on a case-by-case basis.

MCT can help general and chronic muscular pain conditions such as:

The knowledge, specialised skills and techniques used manually, along with the  technology of the machine, treats patients without the stress and over work of the hands. This saves treatment time and wear and tear of the Muscular Corrective Therapists own back, shoulders and hands.

What does the Machine Achieve?

The Machine has unique oscillation adapters which offer directional stroking over a protective sheet that covers the skin while being on the treatment table;

The machine offers the advantage of releasing muscle, improving circulation and speeding up fascia release;

This prepares the body in advance and reduces the time needed with effleurage, friction and in-depth massage to gain the same results;

Therapists can immediately work directly to the tendon, ligaments and muscle groups concerned that need releasing;

The Machine reduces the length of each session and reduces pressure to the Therapists hands.

Why John chose to use a Machine.

The results I achieve with the machine are fast and excellent, especially when used in combination with manual techniques for specific injuries. Patients accept the  Machine as a valued part of their treatment with me. Athletes find it exceptional for lactic acid recovery. In the short time between training sessions it prevented muscular fatigue, and released soft and deep muscle tissue stress. I found that 15 minutes with the machine was equivalent in accomplishing that of 1 hour of my normal hands-on approach.

From my professional experience as a Remedial Therapist, I was able to efficiently develop new practical techniques and with the assistance of the Machine and create Muscular Corrective Therapy. A four to six weeks treatment program could correct serious chronic conditions such as Disc Herniation, Spondilythesis, Bakers Cyst and Patella Femoral Syndrome, without relapse.

Ongoing maintenance with Muscular Corrective Therapy of 4 treatments per year was recommended to these patients that included specific individual stretches, strengthening and lifestyle recommendations, eg an ongoing wholistic approach to wellbeing and lifestyle. I am very excited that the training course is evolving using this Machine has now become a reality for a 21st Century treatment-plan-approach to elevate our community health.

What John has to say about the MCT Course and the use of the Machine

Muscular Corrective Therapy students, who were already therapists with an active practice, and have purchased Machines have significantly (50% improvement and more) increased their business in private practice after only 4 weeks of use and course knowledge. If you are a bodywork practitioner and your vision is to expand your business, save your hands/body and be able to attract more people into your practice, want to treat more people with chronic medical conditions, and possibly be part of the Medicare Allied Health Care Provider group, then our course may be what you are looking for to improve your career.
